Having a baby under one, you want to start family traditions, but they don't really understand ANY of it yet. I just do some of the traditions anyway, and the others I just plan ahead with PJ for next year. This holiday is so tough because everyone celebrates it differently.
I had a little Easter basket ready for Charlie this morning. That was fun. Although, it was for me... not him because I didn't even put him in front of it. I just blew him some bubbles out of it and used it as an excuse to buy him a few cute things.
Some people believe that the Easter bunny hides the eggs. Some people believe the Easter bunny fills the eggs, and the parents hide the eggs. Some people get Easter baskets, others don't. Some people get presents galore. Some people go to church. Some people dye eggs. Some people roll them down the hill. As I watch and listen to families around me celebrate Easter, I get so giddy... so excited for the fun little things we can do with Charlie.
How fun is a holiday, celebrating the most important event in the history of this world.
I just hope that as we do the fun traditions, we can ALWAYS, ALWAYS remember the reason for this day. The atonement is hard for children to understand. By next year, I hope that I can locate some sort of Easter traditions that focus on the spiritual reason for the celebration. What do you guys do?
I do send out my Christ print for FREE every year. If you haven't had the chance, go check out how to get the freebie on my instagram.
The one thing we will always do... is celebrate with family. This year we were lucky enough to have all the Paces in town. We did an egg hunt. Watched the older ones dye eggs and had a family dinner. Then the family came back to our house and walked our dogs. We sure love our family and LOVE that Charlie has such amazing cousins.
