Themed Meal Planning... Variety & Simplicity!! | Freebie

Here is the problem with meal planning. We need something different, we get sick of the same thing over and over. Or maybe we get bored of making the same thing. We are trying to balance nutrients, preferences, allergies, special diets. It’s insane. Believe me, I know. Right now I’m on a Candida diet, talk about repeat meals. I can’t have dairy, or sugar, or gluten, or most fruits, or vinegar. The thought of meal planning gave me a food aversion (no, I’m not pregnant). I was just rotating through salmon, tilapia and taco salad every few days. Then you end up not meal planning at all and eating out. And then getting acne... and breaking the budget.... you get me? Anyone?

Blah, blah, blah Lauren. Get to the point.

Guys! I have found something that has really helped me branch out, but stay simple! How is that even possible?

Let me share.

What I have done is decided on 7-8 themes. The themes I am using will be included, along withmy go-to meals within the theme. The theme allows me to think about the meals that I love that fit within that context. Which helps me brain remember meals I like.

The different theme every night FORCES the variety that I crave, but am too lazy to think about each week.

Here’s what you do. Pick your themes. Create a list of all the go-to, nutritious and delicious meals with in that theme. You’ll know that every Tuesday is Mexican night. So when you’re meal planning, you just pick one of your favorite Mexican themed meals for that night. Wednesday is Italian... so instead of having spaghetti every single day. You’ll only have it one Wednesday, the next Wednesday maybe it’ll be lasagna or homemade pizza. I’m going to show you my examples!

The themes are all yours. I have a customizable blank page. And then I have mine. Feel free to add to it, change it. It’s yours! Make it work. Just don’t sell it. Because that’s just shady.

xoxo,

Lauren Pace
